Beloved, each member of our church family is encouraged to become involved in a ministry of our church. There is room for everyone and each one of us can participate in a ministry.

SENIOR STEWARD BOARD (Junior Stewards) 
Chief officers of the church appointed by the pastor who are responsible for assisting with overall spiritual growth of the church and keeping official membership records.

Meetings: 4th Monday, 7 p.m.

TRUSTEE BOARD (Junior Trustees) 
Responsible for management, maintenance, development and use of all church property.

Meetings: 1st Monday, 7 p.m.

BOARD OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION 
Members with a common interest to promote spiritual growth through the unification of the total educational program of the congregation.

Meetings: 2nd Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.

CHURCH SCHOOL 
Provides teaching, training, nurturing, and preparation of youth and adults in the study of God’s word for Christian service and leadership.

Meetings: Every Sunday, 9 a.m.; Teachers – 1st Wednesday, 6 p.m.

CLASS LEADERS COUNCIL 
Members appointed by the pastor to keep an accurate record of members and encourage members in their support of the work of the church.

Meetings: 3rd Monday, 6 p.m.

EVANGELISM MINISTRY 
Members who assist in leading men, women, and children to accept our Lord Jesus Christ through street witnessing and outreach ministry.

Meetings: as scheduled, Street Witnessing – Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. (Spring/Summer)

HELPING HANDS MINISTRY 
Provides assistance to church and local community as needed.

Meetings: Last Tuesday, 7 p.m.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER MINISTRY 
Members who have a common desire to pray for the needs of others, local and worldwide church issues, and for the salvation of lost souls.

CAROLINE V. STANLEY LAY ORGANIZATION 
Provides training of lay persons in the study of the Doctrine and Discipline of the A.M.E. Church, Parliamentary procedures, and the history, tradition, and principles of African Methodism.

LITURGICAL ARTS MINISTRY 
Dance and Mime Ministry designed as a praise & worship tool to honor the holiness and supremacy of God.

DDPK: Divine Daughters Praising the King (Women’s Liturgical Dancers: Dance as scheduled; Rev. Pamela Connelly, Katrina Smith – Contacts

MARRIAGE MINISTRY
Designed to teach couples (married and those seeking to be married) how to live out God’s purpose for marriage.

MEN’S MINISTRY (Men of Victory & Power) 
Committed to the moral and spiritual uplifting of men; supporting, encouraging, and elevating men wherever they may be, no matter what they may be going through.

Meetings: 2nd & 4th Saturdays, 9 a.m.

MUSIC MINISTRY 
Provides musical and vocal accompaniment for worship services and special programs.

NANCY C. PERRY MISSIONARY SOCIETY 
Assist women and youth in knowledge of God and Christian experiences through Jesus Christ. Foster missionary activities of the church.

Meetings: 1st Tuesday, 7 p.m.

NURSERY 
Teens and adults trained to provide childcare services for ages up to 6 during morning worship service.

Available: 1st thru 4th Sundays (no 5th Sunday daycare)

SENIOR/JUNIOR STEWARDESS BOARD 
Women and young women appointed by the pastor to provide the sacred implements of Holy Communion and Holy Baptism, and to dress the pulpit and altar for various seasons of the Christian year.

Meetings: Saturday prior to 1st Sunday, 10 a.m.

SINGLE ADULT MINISTRY (SAM) 
Provides an internal and external outreach to single adults at Mt. Zion and local communities by promoting opportunities for spiritual and personal growth, good fellowship, and social interaction.

Meetings: 3rd Monday, 7 p.m.

SOUP KITCHEN 
Outreach organization comprised of members and friends committed to serving home-cooked meals to the needy in and around the community. In addition, we support the mission of ministering to the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the people by spreading Christ’s liberating gospel through word and deed.

Meetings: Every Tuesday, 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY 
Licensed and insured adult drivers available to support organizational and church-wide activities by driving the church owned and/or rental vehicles. Transportation is available for those needing transportation to ChurchSchool or Service on Sundays.  Please contact one of the following drivers to arrange your transportation.

USHERS/JUNIOR USHERS 
Adults and youth trained to greet and welcome members and visitors, assist with seating, provide for special needs, and assist the pastor as needed.

Jr Ushers – meet Saturday before 4th Sunday 10 am – 12 pm

WOMEN’S MINISTRY (Women Of Worship) 
Provides women with opportunities for spiritual growth and development, awareness of social and health issues, and fellowship and sisterhood.

Meetings: 1st and 3rd Saturdays, 9 a.m.

YOUNG PEOPLE’S DIVISION (YPD) 
Provides teaching and training of youth/young adults ages 2 to 26 in study of the Bible and A.M.E. doctrine and history, and in all areas of church life to provide for full participation in the total mission of the church.

YOUTH MINISTRY 
A combination of all youth ministries the church organized to encourage the spiritual growth of the youth to build spiritual relationships, and to empower their abilities and talents to celebrate God.

YOUNG ADULT NETWORK (YAN) 
Designed to minister to the individual and collective needs (spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and social) of church members between the ages of 18 and 39; seeks to include this age range in the life of the larger body of Christ; plans and implements community outreach activities geared to reach the unchurched in this age range.
